Boniface VLA For E A Downes & Sons Ltd

As part of their continued fleet upgrade programme, EA Downes were recently in the market for a new low approach slidebed based on a 12t crew cab chassis. After considering many potential suppliers and products available to them, they like many other operators around the country chose Boniface to build their new vehicle.

The VLA slidebed provides an extremely low loading angle, good payload, smooth quiet operation and has features not found on other low approach slidebeds. Clive from Shropshire based EA Downes has now taken delivery of this impressive Euro 6 - 12t MAN crew cab fitted with a new 5t capacity Boniface VLA slide bed and it is now hard at work and coping well with everything it has been required to do. The rugged aluminum deck provides resistance from rust and corrosion along with both increased payload and fuel economy. The VLA features a manually sliding 8,000lb hydraulic winch allowing the operator to easily maintain a straight pull on the vehicle’s towing eye. It also features a 2t capacity 2nd car lift that is adjustable for both width and tyre size ensuring the operator can move anything from the smallest car to the largest van. Like most Boniface slidebeds, the subframe and tipping frames are galvanized to help prolong equipment life and the body is fitted with LED beacon, work lights and marker lights - all of which will provide years of reliable service and use less current that conventional lighting.  The VLA comes as standard with full radio remote control but also has lever controls housed in a control locker at the rear. Operation of the bed is via a single push button control making the product very user friendly and easy to use.
